COMMITMENT: The lessons learned preparing for and completing a solo circumnavigation of the earth in the dangerous Southern Ocean.  Dealing with limited resources and prospects expressed by doubters commitment came in to play. This presentation provides insight into the effects of commitment on approaching a seemingly impossible task.  The heart of the is based upon 10 key points from his book "As Long As It Takes" described as "Things I learned at Sea".

DEALING WITH ADVERSITY: Based of a 32,000 mile voyage in the most difficult and dangerous portion of the sea; the Southern Ocean.  The speaker discusses surviving external and internal stress and doubts, dealing with adversity from personal experience. Techniques for dealing with down turns are presented and discussed.
                                                                                                       

DREAMS AS REALITY IN LIFE AND BUSINESS: Coming from a background in Fortune 500 and ASE companies the speaker has seen that the term "Dream" need not mean hopes spawned during one's sleeping moments.  Developing multi-million dollar promotions for Revlon or finding sponsors for an unusual quest, the secret for success is understanding the difference between dreams and fantasy.

THE STRUGGLE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS BASED ON THE AMISTAD INCIDENT OF 1839: Years a Captain of the recreation of the schooner AMISTAD has provided a wealth of opportunities to retell the story of courage, determination, cooperation and victory. Being a part of the project from the beginning, the speaker gives insights to the process as well as the full story of the events that started in 1839 off the coast of Cuba and changed America's Human Rights Policy.  As Master of this unique vessel CAptain Pinkney has greeted and spoken to more than 400,000 visitors and participated in numerous forums and town meetings on race, ethnicity and diversity.
